Czech Republic Seasonal Worker Work Permit Process Flow

Job Offer/Contract :

Secure a job offer or seasonal employment contract from a Czech employer who is authorized to employ foreign workers for seasonal work.

Work Permit Application :

The employer applies for a Seasonal Worker Work Permit on your behalf at the Czech Labor Office (Úřad práce) in the district where the employment will take place.

Required Documents :

  • The employer submits the necessary documents, including:
  • Job offer/contract specifying seasonal work details.
  • Proof of accommodation arrangements during the employment period.
  • Proof of health insurance coverage for the duration of the stay.
  • Passport or travel document.
  • Proof of financial means to support yourself during the stay.
  • Bio page of a foreign passport.
  • Place of birth.
  • Registration documentation.

Processing Time :

The Czech Labor Office processes the work permit application. The processing time may vary, so it is advisable to apply well in advance of the seasonal work start date.

Visa Application (if applicable) :

Depending on your nationality, you may also need to apply for a Short-Term Schengen Visa or a Long-Term Visa for Seasonal Employment at the Czech Embassy or Consulate in your home country.

Travel to Czech Republic :

Once the work permit and visa (if applicable) are approved, you can travel to the Czech Republic to start your seasonal employment.

Register Residence :

Within 3 working days of arrival, you must register your residence at the Foreign Police Department (Úřad cizí policie) in the district where you are staying.

Employment and Residence Permit :

If the seasonal work continues beyond the initial permit validity, the employer may apply for a renewal or extension of the work permit before it expires.

Departure :

Once the seasonal work period ends, you must return to your home country before the expiry of your visa or residence permit.

Exit Formalities :

Inform the Foreign Police Department of your departure and ensure all exit formalities are completed before leaving the Czech Republic.
